Please note
We supply our furniture in-the-raw so you have the choice to either oil or stain it or let it age. Teak’s natural oils evaporate over a very short time and moisture, dew or rain can cause stains and marks immediately. You can choose to do nothing and allow a silver-grey patina to appear that is part of its charm. In addition, mould and algae will appear. Teak furniture needs to be oiled or stained every 3-6 months if you’d like to maintain the original blonde colour.
The grain may roughen and colour marks may appear – this is its natural weathering process. As a living material, the timber ‘breathes’ – expanding and contracting as it gets used to its surroundings and climate. This can result in small hairline cracks forming, that come and go as the timber settles – this is called ‘checking’. Most importantly, this is cosmetic and does not compromise the durability or strength of your furniture in the long term.
Proper maintenance is essential to keep it in pristine condition. Ideally, clean your furniture every few months.
Cushions are water-resistant but not waterproof. They should be brought in overnight and will get mouldy in wet weather. The covers can be cleaned in a washing machine on low temperature.
