Dining Chairs for Every Kind of Table

The range falls into three easy groups:

• Upholstered - Hamilton, Arizona, Manhattan, New York and Montana in shell, birch, ash, granite, tan and charcoal fabric, plus button-backed Valentina.
• Leather - Montana and the compact Sedona in full-grain Italian cowhide, tanned and hand-finished.
• Rattan and timber - Bellagio chairs with solid white cedar frames, Raffles and Newport in woven rattan, and Hamptons café chairs in solid oak with rattan or linen seats.

Most upholstered designs come with honey or natural legs, so you can match them to your table.

Choosing Dining Chairs That Fit Your Table

Our seat heights sit between 45 and 50cm, and the chairs range from 45 to 56cm wide. Allow around 60cm of table edge for each chair, so nobody bumps elbows, and about 25 to 30cm between the seat and the underside of the tabletop for comfortable legroom.

Back height changes the feel of a room. Arizona and Valentina rise to 94cm for a more formal setting, while the lower Montana (80cm) and Sedona (82cm) keep sight lines open in a smaller space.

Fabric That Copes With Family Dinners

Dining chairs see a lot of life: spilt sauce, sticky fingers, the odd glass of red. Most of our fabric chairs are covered in a woven performance fabric with a stain-resistant coating, so spills wipe away more easily and the chairs stay looking fresh. High-density foam keeps the seat comfortable and holds its shape, and every chair stands on solid timber legs.

Prefer leather? Montana and Sedona also come in Oslo leather, a natural hide where each piece carries its own grain. Either way, they’re chairs that look good at the dinner party and still look good the morning after.

Simple Care for Fabric, Leather and Rattan

A soft, damp cloth keeps timber legs clean; leave out cleaning agents. Keep fabric dining chairs out of direct sun and avoid chemical cleaners. For leather, use a soft cloth and a leather-safe cleaner. Our furniture care guide has more detail on every material.
